The M&S x Sienna Miller dress our fashion editor is buying immediately
Sienna Miller x Marks & Spencer is back for another sell-out spin, just in time for party season – and predictably, there are a lot of pieces we're very tempted to add to basket before they inevitably fly out of stock. From the cream three-piece suit Sienna herself wore to the collab's launch event, to sequinned minis and glamorous faux-fur coats, this new collection has it all, but there's one hero style that the Red team are snapping up immediately: the perfect emerald-green dress.
The £79 satin maxi dress, which also comes in a bright cherry red, is part of a 35-piece drop inspired by the Seventies' disco heyday, and New York's legendary nightclub, Studio 54. 'No one partied like they did then, so I tried to capture that spirit,' said Sienna, and we reckon she's done a stellar job. This show-stopper of a dress in particular, with its draped bodice and subtly sexy slit detail, instantly makes us want to hit the dancefloor, glass of something fizzy in hand. It's bound to be a bestseller.
'Move over LBD, the green dress has become a modern-day muse for our party wardrobes,' says our fashion editor, Jodie Dunworth. 'Ever since Keira Knightley’s iconic slip dress in the 2003 film Atonement, the colour has become an unexpected hit for occasionwear dressing, especially among the fashion crowd, recreated over the years by style icons such as Alexa Chung and recently by Victoria Beckham for her SS25 show. Finally, with Sienna Miller's latest collection for M&S giving it the seal of approval, I need no further proof that this is one dress worth owning.
'There's something about jewel-like emerald green in a satin fabric that feels festive at Christmas, without the cliché connotations of red or gold, meaning it's the perfect piece for a winter wedding and can be worn all the way through to NYE. This M&S number is one you won’t just be saving for winter either; it'll look just as good paired with raffia and white accessories for summer soirees. I'll be wearing mine with glossy black knee boots, or satin pink mules for a surprising dose of clashing colours that still feels elevated (VB style), finished off with a couple of silver hair clips for added festive fizz.'
Love it? This is a limited-edition collection, so go, go, go before it does...
