Lucy Boyton wore iridescent snowflake make-up to switch on Christmas lights

Lucy Boyton's guest appearance at Chanel's Bond Street Christmas lights switch-on last night marks the official arrival of the festive beauty season. As crowds gathered to witness the illuminations come to life, the British actress took to the main stage in a delicate frosted eyeshadow look and cosy head-to-toe white Chanel outfit, presenting the unveiling on London's famous street.

As of today, visitors to Bond Street will now be immersed in a celebration of the fashion house's most iconic fragrance, N°5, reimagined in the form of bright, shimmering light instillations. The magical display is fabricated from recyclable aluminium, with every one of the 85,750 LED bulbs to be reused in future projects.

"We went for quite a fresh, but festive look for Lucy," celebrity make-up artist Andrew Gallimore told Bazaar UK. "She liked the idea of iridescence and silver." He layered Les Beiges Healthy Glow Foundation in two shades (BD01 and BD21) to perfect the complexion, before applying Baume Essential in Sculpting for a soft, realistic glow. "For lips, Lucy wanted to just wear balm – Baume de Chanel – and I lightly lined her lips with a nude pencil, Le Crayon Lèvre in Pivoine."

The star of the show, however, was undoubtedly Boyton's statement, glittered eyeshadow ensemble. With sparkling silver accents in the corners of her eyes, created using the steel-toned shade in The Enchanted Night Palette, the actress was nothing short of a Christmas vision. With four vibrant shades, it's the perfect addition to any winter make-up bag. If you're looking for a sophisticated statement to replicate for the upcoming party season, look no further than this iridescent snowflake-adjacent beauty look.

And you don't need to worry about being a one-season wonder, either; silver eyeshadow is far from a temporary festive trend. The SS25 runway was rife with metallic washes of icy, cool-toned shades, from Mugler to Naeem Khan.
