We haven’t yet come down from the news that Pret now sell their delicious coffee blends through Amazon, and now another of our favourite high street good chains has graced us with a much-needed taste of normality.
Popular healthy fast food eatery, Leon has released one of its most popular products, to be sold in supermarkets.
Though the chain has closed all of its stores for dining-in at the moment (though it is still offering takeaway in selected locations), it still wanted to bring a little taste of their own brand of healthy fast-food to customers.
That’s right, Leon fans, you can now pick up the brand’s gluten-free waffle fries and make them at home.
The criss-cut fries are coated in Leon's signature seasoning and make the perfect addition to almost any meal or can be enjoyed as a snack.
In addition, Leon has also launched three vegan sauces: Love Burger Sauce, Korean Chilli Mayo and Harissa & Sundried Aioli - well, waffle fries wouldn’t be the same without them, would they?
The products will be sold exclusively in Sainsbury’s stores and come just in time for the bank holiday BBQ, so that you can pair your meat with tasty sides (if you’re short on meat, try this handy BBQ delivery box).
Charlotte Di Cello, chief commercial officer at Leon, says: “We know how much our customers love our baked waffle fries and vegan sauces, so we’re excited to be expanding our Grocery range to help more people enjoy naturally fast food at home.”
So are we, Charlotte, so are we.
They are priced at £1.50 for a 550g bag until June 12, after which point the price will rise to £2 - so be quick if you want to stock up for less.
The iconic waffle fries, which sold in 2.5million portions at Leon in 2019, will be available exclusively at 180 of Sainsbury’s larger stores as well as online at sainsburys.co.uk.
Leon’s waffle fries cost £1.50 – however, it’s been advised that this is an ‘introductory offer for four weeks’ so all the more reason to stock up now.
Meanwhile, the sauces are all offered at £2.50.
But this isn’t the first time Leon has launched products at supermarkets - Sainsbury's already stocks a range of the chain's sauces, dips and oils in stores and on its website. You can view the full range here.
