Kate’s Boston ‘tour-drobe’ is a triumph of British brands
The Prince and Princess of Wales landed in the United States on Wednesday to begin their four-day visit to Boston. The trip culminates in the Earthshot Prize Awards on Friday, and Kate’s 'tour-drobe' is already an exercise in diplomatic dressing.
Kate, 40, has taken the opportunity to showcase the diversity and excellence of British brands whilst she and husband Prince William are across the pond and taking part in several events in the lead up to Friday’s Earthshot Prize awards ceremony.
It’s only day two of the couple’s royal visit to Massachusetts this week and Kate has already flown the flag for British designers in three separate outfits.

The Duchess of Cambridge and Cornwall stepped out on Thursday with William to visit Greentown Labs in Somerville, North America’s largest clean-tech incubator, to learn more about how climate innovation is nurtured & scaled.

She wore a burgundy two piece suit which looks to be from British designer Roland Mouret, which was punctuated by a pale pink pussy bow blouse by Temperley London.
Kate may have accessorised with a coordinating Chanel box bag, but she chose gold earrings by British jewellery designer, Daniella Draper.
Landing in Boston on Wednesday looking fresher than anyone I’ve ever seen step off a plane (especially a commercial flight, even if they did sit in business class), the mother of three also wore an Alexander McQueen two-piece suit over a fitted polo-neck knit.

Alexander McQueen has been one of Kate’s go-to British designers for both public events and formal evening wear ever since she chose the brand’s creative director Sarah Burton to create her 2011 wedding dress.
The princess accessorised the smart look with Gianvito Rossi navy suede pumps, and the sapphire earrings that belonged to her late mother-in-law, Diana.
Later on Wednesday, the Prince and Princess of Wales attended the launch of this year's Earthshot Prize at Boston's City Hall. Here, Kate opted for an all-green ensemble, which served as a nice tribute to the host city as mayor Michelle Wu lit Boston’s landmarks in green at the end of the event.

Kate’s plaid green dress by British brand Burberry was also a subtle nod to St. Andrew’s Day on November 30, coincidentally also the town where the royal couple met at university.
The Princess of Wales finished the look with a forest green overcoat, again by go-to designer Alexander McQueen, green Emmy London pumps, a black Mulberry Amberley handbag and a pair of gold and pearl earrings by sustainable jewellery brand Shyla.

Alexander McQueen, Burberry, Mulberry, and Emmy London are all brands that Kate has worn multiple times in the past — however it is thought that this is the first time she has been seen sporting a design by Shyla London.
Each ensemble so far has been a sartorial statement on sustainable practice ahead of the eco-centric awards on Friday. Each element had been previously worn by the princess in the past, or, if new, has been acquired from a sustainable designer.
With her Boston ‘tour-drobe’ already stacking up to be an exercise in well-thought-out sartorial decisions, we can’t wait to see what Kate comes up with at the formal awards ceremony on Friday.
