1 She has a rather risqué relative. Katrina Darling, her second cousin twice removed, is a stripper who’s posed for Playboy and Loaded magazine – but has reportedly made no effort to contact the royal.
2 Kate Middleton set a high-jump record of 1.50 metres when she attended St. Andrew’s School in Berkshire – which has yet to be beaten.
3 The song that was number one when Kate was born was ‘Don’t You Want Me’ by The Human League. We reckon this shaped her life in a BIG way…
4 She might have married into royalty but Kate is from a decisively working-class background, including coal-miners and builders. It was her maternal grandmother, Dorothy Goldsmith, who changed the course of history by encouraging her daughter, Carole, to aim high. Carole became an air-hostess - where she met her soon-to-be husband, Michael Middleton.
5 Kate was something of a drama queen at school, performing as Eliza Doolittle in ‘My Fair Lady’ and Prince Charming in ‘Cinderella’ (coincidentally, she went on to marry her very own Prince Charming).
6 Kate took a gap year after her A-Levels at Malborough College - first to Florence, Italy, where she started an intensive 12-week course at the British Institute of Florence and then to Chile – just weeks after Prince William, in fact.
7 Kate’s nickname at school was ‘Squeak’ – and her sister was called ‘Pip’ (which they soon named their pet guinea-pigs.)

10 The Duchess has a three-inch scar on her scalp. A palace spokesman confirmed it was related to a ‘very serious operation’ that she has a child – but hasn’t revealed what it was from. A school friend reckons it was from an injury she sustained during a hockey match at Marlborough College.

13 US drama ‘One Tree Hill’ is one of her favourite TV shows, according to the show’s creator. He was reportedly approached to put some box sets together for her and Wills, which he sent to the royal couple while they were living in Anglesey.

15 She joined the Brownies with her little sister Pippa in 1990 and was described by the former pack leader as ‘quite easygoing.’
