On top of the various video clips, a poignant audio played out which spoke about grief and empathised with how fans may be feeling. “Just remember, you are allowed to grieve as a fan. You are allowed to love someone you’ve never met,” it said.

“You are allowed to admire someone for their art. You are allowed, to cry, to break, to feel like a part of you is gone. Because even if they never knew your name, they changed your world.” As he reposted the clip, Justin shared a touching message of his own. “Rest easy Liam,” she wrote alongside a white heart emoji.

Back in 2019, Liam opened up about his relationship with Justin Bieber and revealed that he’d once quashed any “beef” between the Baby singer and One Direction. “Me and Justin had a really long chat once in his trailer,” he told the Mirror.

“There had been 1D and Justin Bieber beef at the time. And then we had a really long chat, and he's a really nice kid.”

“For now, our thoughts are with his family, his friends, and the fans who loved him alongside us. We will miss him terribly. We love you Liam,” they wrote before signing it off with “Louis, Zayn, Niall and Harry”.
