Joel Dommett in tears ahead of I'm A Celebrity as fans say they just want to give him 'a hug'
I’m A Celebrity returned on Sunday 17 November for its 2024 series and already had fans in hysterics over podcaster GK Barry’s dramatic reaction to trials, Tulisa replicating her iconic X Factor Female Boss stance and Ant and Dec Wagatha Christie jokes. Now, for the second episode airing tonight, Monday 18 November it seems things get more emotional than funny.
Presenter Joel Dommett, who was runner up in the 2016 series of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, took to Instagram in floods of tears telling fans tonight’s episode is “very emotional”. As his eyes welled up, Joel said: “It's a very emotional episode this evening on I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here. Erm, you’re going to love it. It’s absolutely amazing. What a show. I think I miss my family.”
Fans were quick to comment their shock at how the episode had left him in tears. One said: “Don’t do this to me”, as another said: “What a teaser!” A third commented: “Omg what’s going on! Gotta watch it now”. A fourth commented: "Stop, want to give you a hug!"
Joel revealed on Good Morning Britain last month that the jungle show’s popular spin off Extra Camp is coming back alongside the new series, which aired last night. The show is renamed I’m A Celebrity Unpacked, and features all the inside gossip and entertainment about the camp mates.

The sister show was dropped four years ago and speaking on GMB last month, Joel said: “I feel like it’s the right time to bring it back. There’s a thirst for it.” He presents presenting I’m A Celebrity Unpacked alongside current King of the Jungle Sam Thompson and DJ Kemi Rodgers. Sam added: "I am not joking, it is the best show on TV. Being a part of it, then being on the other side, is a dream come true." The show includes interviews with campmates who have been voted out, as well as chats with hosts Ant and Dec.
Tonight GK Barry is set to take on the 'Vile Volcano' Bushtucker trial in a bid to win stars for camp in I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! The 25 year old YouTube sensation will be heading underground and it seems she won't be alone down there. As she crawls through a tiny tunnel in search of coveted stars, Grace can't help but let out a scream. Despite her best efforts to stay calm, the TikTok star loses her cool when she feels red ants crawling all over her.
Things escalate when several huge spiders fall from the walls as she navigates the underground tunnel. Trying to keep her nerves in check, Grace repeatedly tells herself: "Everything is fine. Everything is completely fine. What is an Ant among friends."
