Paul Sinha, known as The Sinnerman on The Chase, left fans gobsmacked with a cheeky jibe at his co-stars during the 2024 Virgin Atlantic Attitude Awards. The 54-year-old TV star cheekily likened his fellow ITV quizzers to sex toys while hosting the event at the Roundhouse in North London. Paul took the opportunity to explain how his and his co-stars' nicknames came about on the popular game show. He joked: "A special welcome to those of you who are in full-time employment because you won't have a clue who I am. So allow me to introduce myself. Yes, my name is Paul Sinha, but I'm better known as The Sinnerman. It's a rubbish nickname. It means nothing."

"I don't mind, I feel I've dodged a bullet given the names of the other Chasers - The Governess, The Vixen, The Menace, The Beast and The Dark Destroyer," according to The Sun. He continued: "I'm the only Chaser who's not named after a sex toy. I have to tell you that hours of research went into that joke." In other news, The Chase has been hit with accusations of being 'fixed' after a recent episode saw a contestant lose out on £75,000 in the final moments, leading viewers to claim the show is 'rigged'. The latest episode of the ITV quiz show, which aired on Thursday, September 19, saw host Bradley Walsh introduce a new team of hopefuls to the studio.

Contestants Charlie, George, Sophia and James soon discovered they would be going head-to-head with The Governess Anne Hegarty. Despite their best efforts, Charlie, George, and Sophia were knocked out after failing to answer enough questions correctly, leaving James to face the final chase alone.

James, who had performed brilliantly in the first round, was left to compete solo in the nail-biting finale. Clearly well-prepared, he stormed through the grand finale, answering an impressive 18 questions correctly. When it was Anne's turn to face the quiz questions, the game came down to the final four seconds.

The Chaser stumbled by giving a wrong answer, giving James the chance to push back. Sadly, he got the question wrong, putting him in a tense situation. With £75,000 at stake, Bradley exclaimed: "Oh wee... £75,000 in the balance. Chaser needs one with four seconds remaining. Here we go."

The Governess had just four seconds to get one correct answer, which, much to James' disappointment, she did. After the episode aired, viewers took to social media to express their disappointment at the loss, with some even claiming that the final chase was 'rigged,' writing: "Rigged for Anne last question 100percent #thechase." Another said: "They even gave her extra time to compose herself. Very unfair."

A third commented: "Find it very interesting how Brad give it such a slow build up then a question comes up that can easily be interrupted/answered correctly within those 4 seconds... well done itv you've rigged it to save yourselves 75k. #TheChase."
