MasterChef Australia fan-favourite Khanh Ong has shared his surprising hangover meal that could 'save' you following a big night out. The celebrity chef, 30, revealed his go-to recipe for recovery after a night of drinking. Luckily, it only requires a handful of fridge staples, and a few minutes to prepare and cook, according to the talented TV star.

Posting a video to his 384,000 Instagram followers, the I'm A Celebrity star revealed the easy pasta dish he resorts to making for the ultimate comfort food when he's feeling worse for wear. He said in the clip: "I am so hungover. I went out for dinner and drinks last night. I couldn’t be bothered going to the supermarket so this is just a fridge and pantry raid."

Writing in the caption, he shared: "What I make when I’m hungover. It’s been a few months since I’ve done this." He then detailed the recipe and method for his spicy tuna and broccolini pasta dish. Ingredients included 1 tbsp of EVOO, 5-15cloves of garlic finely chopped, 1 long red and 1 birdseye chili finely chopped, handful of parsley finely chopped, one can of Serena tuna in chili oil, a handful of broccolini stems chopped and florets, a handful of cherry tomatoes halved, pasta of your choice as well as salt, lemon zest and juice.

He encouraged his users to eat enough pasta "like enough to not be hungover", he joked as he went on to reveal the method for the meal.

The food sensation shared: "Cook the pasta 2 minutes less than packet instructions in heavily salted water. In a pan add garlic, chilli and parsley with evoo and the oil form the tuna. Cook until fragrant on medium about 2 minutes stirring.

"Add broccolini stems and cook off 2 minutes. Add broccolini tops, tomatoes and cook for 4 minutes until tomatoes soften. Add a ladle of pasta water. And lemon zest and juice of half a lemon."

He continued, writing: "Add pasta and more parsley. It’s and add tuna. Cook tossing for 1 minute. Add more pasta water if desired. Top with lemon zest, parsley and salt. Go to back to bed."

Fans rushed to the comment section to talk about the 'hangover recipe'. One user admitted: "I order an HSP from uber eats;" another jokingly shared: "I love to experience that level of hangover. I can barely manage to steam broccoli while sweating and deep breathing, then laying on the kitchen floor while I wait for it to steam. Then struggle to me feet to serve and eat."

Meanwhile a third added: "Why has no one mentioned the Passiona?!!! That’s the secret to getting rid of your hangover!"

In the video footage, Khanh could be seen finely chopping up his garlic, chilli, parsley, and cherry tomatoes on a large chopping board. He announced: "I want spice and I want carbs."

The chef's pan was filled with vibrant colours of the finely chopped rainbow of vegetables and herbs. Khanh, who is the owner of The George on Collins, is famous for his fresh home-style take on Vietnamese cooking. The star was eliminated from Masterchef Australia in 2018 during the semifinal, just missing out on a spot in the finale.

On the show, Khanh revealed his extraordinary immigrant story, telling Woman's Day that his boat was targeted by armed pirates while sailing to Australia. Khanh said at the time that he signed up to MasterChef because he needed a 'change' and a 'challenge'. "I want a career in food," he said. "I just didn't know how to start."
