I'm A Celeb star Oti Mabuse's 'upper hand' exposed by co-star days before launch show

Former I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! campmate Vincent Simone has claimed that Oti Mabuse has the "upper hand" as she prepares for life in the Australia jungle.

The cast of the 2024 series was announced earlier this week with the likes of Coleen Rooney, Danny Jones, Alan Halsall and GK Barry joining dancer Oti in camp.

Former campmate Vincent, who appeared as a professional dancer for six series of Strictly Come Dancing, has shared his thoughts on the latest batch of stars hoping to be crowned King or Queen of the Jungle.

Taking on behalf of 10bet, Vincent said: "I think everybody could win. I mean it's part about popularity and secondly it's entertaining. It's not just about the tasks. You need to catch people's hearts, be likeable and do well so it is very hard.

"I know Oti is quite popular, especially coming from a big show like Strictly so maybe she does have the upper hand so we just have to wait and see."

Opening up about his own experience Down Under, Vincent added: "The way I approached it, being a performer, I thought of the show to be about performing. You know there are millions of people watching you so you don't want make a fool of yourself.

"For me, it was thinking how you act when you go on stage ready to perform and there's an audience watching you and it's live, so in a way I was blessed because I come from that background of performing. It's not easy. I'm not saying it's easy at all.

"The one thing I will say to them is to keep yourself busy because the days are long and make sure you know you do some exercises, don't lie around and sit around just keep moving, keep yourself entertained."

Vincent entered as a late arrival on Day 17 during the thirteenth series and finished in tenth place and he's now ready to return if he gets the call to appear on the All-Stars version of the gruelling ITV reality show.

He explained: "The year I did I'm A Celebrity was perfect for me because I just left Strictly, I had tours booked and I had that time where I thought 'I'm gonna take this up for the challenge' because I'd never done anything on my own ever.

"It's always been me and my dance partners, me and my dance teachers and this for me was a special moment to go to an environment. which I will never go to or never pay to go to. and it was one of the best things I've ever done in my life.

"I was really happy and content with myself that I had that experience which I'll cherish forever and yet again. I needed a long break but now again I find myself in this time of my life where yes, bring it on.

"I'm more mature and more wise and if anything I will enjoy it even more. I feel like either Strictly or I'm A Celebrity I will approach it in a different way. I have nothing to lose or nothing to prove any more so I would do it for myself."

I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! is expected to return to ITV1 later this year
