TV presenter Holly Willoughby has made a return to social media and has been seen enjoying a girls night out. The former This Morning host shared an Instagram story with Nicole Appleton as they supported her son Gene Gallagher, son of Liam Gallagher at his gig.

In the picture on Holly’s Instagram story she’s seen smiling and holding a drink alongside Nicole and their other friends. The pals were all sitting in the stands ready to watch Gene’s band, Villanelle. Holly hasn’t posted anything on social media since her ex-This Morning co-star Phillip Schofield appeared on Channel 5’s Cast Away to tell his ‘side of the story’.

Holly and Phillip had presented This Morning as well as Dancing on Ice for over a decade. But after Phillip’s ‘unwise but not illegal’ affair with a younger colleague, the pair are believed to no longer be friends.

Phillip, just last month, made his TV comeback when he appeared in the Channel 5 show Cast Away, where he was left on an island for 10 days. He was alone with just a few essentials and a camera to record his journey - where he also opened up his experience over the last year.

In one part of Cast Away, Phillip said to the camera: “I miss parts of being on TV, certainly. I miss most of it if I’m honest. I miss most of it. But there are bits that I really, really, really don’t miss.” He added pointedly: “You learn a lot about people. I don’t miss that. When you throw someone under a bus, you’ve got to have a really bl**dy good reason to do it.”

He also seemed to be mocking the much-talked-about moment when Holly asked viewers, ‘Are you OK?’ In scenes with his wife Steph and their two daughters, Molly, 31, and Ruby, 28, he jokingly said: "If you're okay, then we're okay, and I'm okay. Are you okay?”

While Holly has been quiet since her ITV exit, she will be back on screens very soon in a reboot of the game show You Bet! With her friend Stephen Mulhern, the new series of Dancing On Ice in January, and her reality competition show, Bear Hunt, with Bear Grylls, which has the potential for the first time to give Holly a global fanbase.
