Heidi Klum demonstrates how to maintain social distancing while getting your highlights done
After almost two months of living with coronavirus restrictions, it’s safe to say that many of us are in desperate need of a trip to the hairdressers.
According to government guidelines, hairdressers in the UK could re-open on 4th July at the earliest, but that’s dependent on the government’s key indicators for easing measures being met.
Never fear, because Heidi Klum believes she has a solution to all of our hair woes.
We’ve seen people hugging using make-shift protective gear and now the 46-year-old has taken things to the next level - and it involves an umbrella.
The model can be seen wearing lingerie and heels as she gets her hair put in foils by her hairdresser, Lorenzo Martin.

In the caption, she wrote “Dahhling we found a way. Social distancing highlights.”
These weren’t just any social distancing highlights, though. The celebrity hairdresser came prepared with an unlikely prop to help him social distance from his client.
That’s right, an umbrella. The umbrella even had arm holes cut into it so Martin could go about his work while keeping some sort of distance.
Despite the social distancing measures, it’s safe to say that not all of Klum’s fans were happy with her decision, deciding that she was bending the rules of lockdown.

“This is a joke, right?” One incredulous follower wrote.
“I thought social distancing was meant to be 6ft away?” Another questioned.
In the UK, social distancing measures prohibit people from different households going within 6ft of each other. That’s roughly two arms lengths away.
It’s thought that Klum is currently residing in her Los Angeles home. California is following the same social distancing rules to the UK.

Others questioned the umbrella, musing over its significance.
“What’s the point of the umbrella?” One person asked.
Klum snappily replied, “to maybe get a smile even in [sic] your face.”
Others were more complimentary of the perceived rule break, though, heralding Klum as a “genius”.
“Only you. Love it.” Naomi Campbell wrote, who has come under her own scrutiny lately for taking two flights during lockdown wearing a full hazmat suit.
The 49-year-old model wore a full-suit, face shield and goggles for her recent trip. She even documented the trip on her Instagram account.
We assume that wearing an umbrella while cutting somebody’s hair doesn’t offer much in the way of protection, but the countdown is on to the sweet, sweet day we can all be reunited with our hairdressers.
Now, that’s something to look forward to.
