It has just been announced that the Duchess of Cambridge is to embark on her first ever solo tour - to the Netherlands, according to Kensington Palace.
The Kensington Palace Twitter account tweeted this morning that “The Duchess of Cambridge will visit the Netherlands on 11th October for a day of official engagements in The Hague and Rotterdam.”
Upon arrival, the Duchess will pay a courtesy call to His Majesty King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands, before visiting art museum The Mauritshuis to view the exhibition ‘At Home in Holland: Vermeer & his Contemporaries from the British Royal Collection’.

2016 has been a year of firsts for Kate Middleton, as she posed for her first official magazine cover shoot in British Vogue’s June issue earlier this year.
She was photographed by Josh Olins for the publication’s centenary, who noted that the mother of two was a natural and “a joy to work with,” despite never having sat for a magazine shoot before.

Shortly after this was the Duchess’ first ever visit to the Royal Ascot in June, at which she wore a white Dolce and Gabbana lace dress with a woven gold Jane Taylor hat to cheer on her horses.
