The Duchess of Cambridge's jewellery collection is worth an astonishing amount
Being a royal has its perks: world class luxury, a wardrobe to die for and all the diamonds you could possibly want.
But who knew that the Duchess of Cambridge‘s jewellery box alone is worth £600,000? The shocking figure comes from a new book, ‘How To Dress Like A Princess: The Secrets of Kate’s Wardrobe.’
In it, author Claudia Joseph describes Kate’s “magpie-like eye” for jewellery, adding: “Although people tend to focus on the incredible gems and tiaras that she borrows from the Queen, most people will be amazed to see the extraordinary collection she has amassed since her marriage.”
Most of Kate’s most impressive pieces have been presents from Prince William who has gifted Kate on occasions such as birthdays, Christmases and even when she gave birth to Prince George and Princess Charlotte.
Some other jewels have been passed down through the royal family, meaning that the Duchess is unlikely to have spent anywhere near £600,000 on the collection.
But whether it’s mega-expensive watches from Cartier or her famous sapphire engagement ring, the Duchesses jewellery collection is always growing.
It’s estimated that the actual value of Kate’s collection is closer to £1 million when you count a £150,000 diamond bracelet gifted by Prince Charles and a Cartier diamond set bought by her parents and her husband.
Although she has a jewellery collection any woman would die for, the Duchess is also impartial to the odd high street buy, having worn pieces from the likes of Zara in the past.
Take a look at some of her most expensive items.
