Coronation Street's Melissa Johns has said "I do" to her long-term love, Dan Hampton, in a stunning ceremony surrounded by their nearest and dearest. The actress, who portrayed Imogen Pascoe on the ITV soap from 2017 until 2019, shared snippets and snaps from her special day on social media for her fans to see. She was joined at the joyous occasion by fellow Corrie star Bhavna Limbachia, who played Rana Habeeb until 2019.

The duo worked together during their stint on the show, with Melissa playing the role of Kate Connor's (Faye Brookes) girlfriend. Kate would later become engaged to Rana, before tragedy struck on their wedding day when Rana was written out of the show. In a heartfelt post on Instagram, Melissa penned: "Good morning world. We're still in a bit of a bubble. It's really quite lovely in here.

In the images, Melissa looks lovingly on to Dan as he cuddles her in his embrace. Other images show the couple wandering in the field behind the sunset. The touching message was accompanied by some breathtaking photos showcasing the star's strapless gown and the beautiful Herefordshire venue.

A host of celebrity pals were quick to send their well wishes in the comments, with Bhavna herself writing: "Huge congratulations! What a beautiful day." "Beautiful. Huge congratulations," Emmerdale's Laura Norton, who portrays Kerry Wyatt, commented.

Aside from her role in Coronation Street, Melissa has taken on a range of roles in shows such as I Hate Suzie, The Interceptor and The Split.

Melissa, known for her role as Miss Scott in the beloved series Grantchester, is not just an actress. She's also a passionate disability rights activist, frequently advocating for improved representation of disabilities on screen.

She was born with a disability and would previously try her best to disguise having one arm. However, in 2017, she revealed to Mirror Online: "I love that I play a blonde, I have one arm, I’m feisty as hell and I am gay."

She once featured in an intimate scene when Imogen's choker was pulled off by Rana, leading Kate to put it back on for her. The romantic moment was only made possible due to Melissa's disability, which she recognised.

She explained: "That wouldn’t happen if I could have put it on myself."

The talented star opened up about her initial nerves about filming Corrie for the first time. Melissa admitted: "I’m so lucky that Imogen is a great character and has a real attitude. But it was nerve-racking being on set for the first time and I wasn’t sure if my one arm was in shot."
