Coleen Rooney warns Wayne 'don't humiliate me' as she prepares to join I'm A Celebrity
With Coleen Rooney expected to wave goodbye to her four sons and head into the Australian jungle for I’m A Celebrity, a source tells OK! that she’s issued hubby Wayne with some very strict instructions. Coleen, 38, was one of the first celebrities rumoured to be heading into the jungle for the 24th series of the ITV show, seven years after her nemesis Rebekah Vardy appeared on the show.
With a potential three-week stint away from their Cheshire home and children, our source claims Coleen has come up with a list of 'rules' for Wayne - the top one being a stern warning not to humiliate her. “Coleen is very, very savvy and she knows that her going into the jungle will put them both under a spotlight,” they claim. “People will be watching everything she says and does and she knows it’ll be the same for Wayne so she wants to make sure everything goes smoothly."
“She doesn’t want to come out of the jungle and see that Wayne has done something silly and be humiliated. She’s given him clear rules and told him ‘the boys need you, don’t mess up, don’t humiliate me’.

“He’s not allowed to go out partying or drinking when he’s at home or in Plymouth, and when he finishes work at the football club he has to drive straight home to Cheshire and be at home with the boys.”
Wayne, 39, is also under instructions to make sure he goes to all the kids’ school activities and clubs when he’s at home, and to “just be the best dad he can be”, the source added.
Coleen’s main focus for the last 15 years has been bringing up their boys - Kai, 15, Klay, 13, Kit, eight, and six-year-old Cass - and her stint in the jungle will likely be the longest time she’s ever spent away from home without them.
But her life as a full-time mum has hardly been a walk in the park. She’s dealt with numerous scandals over the years, most of them caused by a younger Wayne’s foolish and “not acceptable” behaviour with other women.
The former Manchester United ace, who was appointed manager of Championship club Plymouth Argyle in May, was accused of having a threesome behind Coleen’s back when she was pregnant with Kai, and in 2017 he was charged with drink driving after being stopped by police with party-goer Laura Simpson.
In their Amazon Prime Rooney documentary which aired two years ago, devout Catholic Coleen addressed her husband’s wayward past, saying “It’s not acceptable what he’s done but it’s happened and that was a stage of life that we were in at the time. But we’ve moved on.”
Now with her set to leave the UK for up to a month, our source says Coleen has made it very clear she doesn’t want anything resembling a repeat of his past mistakes.
“Her parents will be in charge during the week with school runs and things, but when Wayne isn’t working, he’s been told he has to be just as hands-on as she normally is,” they claimed.
“When she’s in charge, she’s incredibly dedicated to her family - she’s very much a working full-time mum. But her time in the jungle is her moment, it’s something she’s doing just for herself and she doesn’t want to be 'that mum in the jungle' crying and worrying about her kids.
“She knows the jungle strips people down and there’s nowhere to hide and she wants to be feeling her best in there. She doesn’t want the spotlight to be stolen for all the wrong reasons. She doesn’t want to come out and see photos of Wayne on nights out or anything.”
Coleen is reportedly going to receive I’m A Celeb’s biggest ever paycheque, banking in excess of a whopping £1.5m. And before she’s even left the UK there’s of course already one topic on everybody’s lips - Wagatha Christie.
Coleen famously faced off against Rebekah Vardy in the English High Court in 2022 after Rebekah sued her for defamation following the accusation that she’d been leaking Coleen’s private information to the media.
After the judge ruled in her favour, a defiant Coleen said she felt no “ill will” towards Rebekah, who is married to Leicester City captain Jamie Vardy , but pointed out that the judgement “makes it clear that I was right in what I said” about the leaks.
Amid rumours that Rebekah is up for paying a surprising visit to the jungle this year, our source says Coleen is not afraid to address the topic - as long as Wayne stays out of it.
“She’s not naïve, she knows people will ask her about the history, even if it’s not aired," they claimed. "She knows the Rebekah stuff will probably come up too, and she’s more than happy to have her say because she has her receipts in order from the legal verdict.
“That said, she also knows Rebekah would have a right to reply and would probably take it, so Wayne is under instructions not to engage or be dragged into something.”
We can’t wait to see what unfolds….
