Coleen Rooney has broken her silence for the first time on the Wagatha Christie trial while in the I’m A Celebrity jungle. Speaking to her campmates, GK Barry, Dean McCullough and Loose Women ’s Jane Moore, the mum of four spoke about why she did what she did. She said: “I just didn’t think it would get the impact it did. I just done it because I was just that sick and tired of it. It was draining and it was the fact that they carried on and carried on. That was my worst nightmare, was to go to court and the thing is SHE was taking me to court.”

Coleen continued: “I felt ashamed going to court. I’m not that type to play things out in the public. I just felt like it was putting a whole show on for the whole world. I didn't want that. I wanted to settle it before and get it done with. What got me with the whole thing is that it became a bit of a joke and that’s what I really didn't want. It wasn't a joke for me. And it was like people were saying ‘oh it’s just two school girls’. No one knew the full story. That’s my story done. It gets to a point where I’m like ‘I’m not putting up with this anymore.”

Back in 2019, Coleen accused Rebekah of "informing the press about her private online posts" in a lengthy social media message in 2019. The 38 year old took to Instagram to call out the pregnant star in a post to her 749,000 followers.

She wrote to fans: "For a few years now someone who I trusted to follow me on my personal Instagram account has been consistently informing [a national newspaper] of my private posts and stories. There has been so much information given to them about me, my friends and my family - all without my permission or knowledge. After a long time of trying to figure out who it could be, for various reasons, I had a suspicion."

After telling her followers how she cleverly came up with a plan to catch the mystery source out, she ended the statement with: "It's been tough keeping it to myself and not making any comment at all, especially when the stories have ben leaked, however I had to. Now I know for certain which account / individual it's come from. I have saved and screenshotted all the original stories which clearly show just one person has viewed them. It's..........Rebekah Vardy's account."

Rebekah denied the allegations and sued Coleen for libel, but the case was later found in Coleen's favour, and left Rebekah liable to pay £1.5 million towards Coleen's legal fees. Just last month, Rebekah was ordered to pay £100,000 of the money she owes.
