Chloe Madeley has opened up about her split from husband James Haskell, and has revealed the reason why they went their separate ways. Chloe and James, who are doting parents to their two year old daughter Bodhi, revealed in October 2023 that they’d called time on their relationship after five years of marriage.

Since announcing their split, Chloe, 37, and James, 39, have remained on good terms and Chloe’s dad, Richard Madeley, recently revealed that the pair had a “very happy uncoupling” and were even heading on holiday together. And now, Chloe has revealed more details about her split from James.

“My ex, and I, I think, one of the reasons things became so hard for us was because he thrives in chaos. His schedule, I don't even remember when he was in England for a full week. He's all over the place and I just can't do that. Can't live like that.”

Chloe added that she thinks she knew they were both “really unhappy”, before discussing the exact moment that she knew their relationship was over. “I swear to God it was just like one day, I remember exactly where we were - I remember the day, the time, the temperature, the outfit, everything - I just remember like just saying it, "I don't think that we should do this any more,” she explained.

Earlier this year the TV personality spoke to OK! about the split and explained how separating had a positive effect on her family. “Since James and I made the decision to draw a line under it, I’ve felt really free, happy and calm,” she said.

“It’s interesting. I think people hear about it and they automatically think it’s a negative thing. But in our case, it’s a very positive decision and it’s good. I’ve just felt a lot lighter.”

She also opened up about parenting Bodhi following their split. “We’re not going anywhere. I think everyone can see on social media we’re not messing around. We’re going to be the best parents we can be to Bodhi. James is an incredible dad and she adores him – and I like to think I’m a pretty good mum. We want her to have a strong bond to both of us, but also her family unit. We spend so much time together,” she revealed.
