'Body shaming is for losers': Fashion blogger Chiara Ferragni slams Italian newspaper for calling her friends 'fat'
Fashion blogger Chiara Ferragni isn’t happy about how an Italian newspaper described her and the friends who joined her for a bachelorette weekend in Ibiza.
The Italian style influencer, who is due to marry the rapper Fedez, took to Instagram to slam Corriere della Sera for its body-shaming remarks about the women. The publication initially referred to them as “rotonde,” which translates to “round.”

The article also made note of the weight Ferragni — know for her fashion blog, The Blonde Salad — reportedly gained while she was pregnant with son Leone, whom she delivered in March.
Ferragni later blasted the article as “disgusting.”
“My friends have been described as ‘fat’ by an Italian newspaper,” the bride-to-be told her 13.5 million Instagram followers, adding the hashtag #BodyShamingIsForLosers.

Ferragni called out the publication for sending an inappropriate message:
“I’ve never felt perfect in my life (nor do I think I am right now), but I was always lucky to feel confident in my own skin,” Ferragni wrote. “That was mainly because my mom grew me up telling me I could have done anything I wanted in life if I [fought] for it, making me [feel] super-special.
“Women have such a hard time feeling beautiful because of so many reasons,” she went on. “As a role model for so many women, I always try to share the message that they mostly have to feel confident. That’s why I’m beyond shocked to read such a wrong message shared by such an important newspaper.
“Different is beautiful. Not perfect is beautiful. Happy is beautiful. Confident is beautiful. Don’t let others bring you down or tell you who you are, ever.”

Screenshots from her fans — who have flooded her with messages of support — show that the publication changed its description of the women from “round and happy” to “athletic and happy.”
The headline of the current online version doesn’t refer to their body shapes, only to Ferragni’s pink-tinted hair. The article, however, still mentions her “showing off the [about 11 pounds] earned with motherhood.”

Lo sanno il @Corriere e la giornalista @VenezianiMT che se cambiano più volte il titolo, link e anteprima mantengono la prima versione? https://t.co/2Hecd6ASKW pic.twitter.com/J6NrUVTyra
