Beyonce’s ‘Lemonade’: Get the look for less
It’s an hour-long visual album filled with powerful words, vibrant visuals and extravagant outfits taking viewers on a journey through 11 different emotions. Beyonce’s new Lemonade video premiered on HBO this past weekend and the internet is still going crazy.We chose our favourite outfits from the video and found items that are equally stylish for a fraction of the price.
Denial: Roberto Cavalli mustard dress & Saint Laurent platform heels
This mustard yellow dress broke the internet — fans went crazy over the colour, length and style. Costume designer B. Akerlund was responsible for creating the entire look, pulling the dress straight off the runway from Roberto Cavalli’s Fall 2016 line. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Akerlund says every detail of the dress is what makes the video iconic, “We tried different shades, but yellow can be very wrong when you go more lemon-y.” She says she knew mustard yellow was the best shade for Beyonce as it’s vibrant but not goofy. We’ve found a very similar colour and styled dress and matched it with stilettos and a wrist chain so you can channel your inner Bey. All you need is hot sauce in your bag.

Anger: Yeezy crop top & capri legging
In this chapter, Beyonce is wearing an Ankh symbol around her neck, the ancient Egyptian character known as the key of life. Egyptian gods are often pictured wearing the symbol by its loop. She’s got on a two piece crop top and capris legging set from Kanye West’s Yeezy line. Since we all know that’s far from affordable, we found this trendy Soho Girl two piece that looks just like it. Pair it with an Ankh necklace and shoes of your choice (seriously, this outfit goes with everything) and you’ll be slaying in no time. The best part? This whole outfit comes under $50!

Emptiness: Red ballroom dress & statement jewelry
Nothing says fierce like a bold red dress, fire and some Mad Max-like jewellery. Steam punk statement pieces aren’t exactly everyday wear so we’ve toned it down but kept the same dramatic effect. This bandeau maxi dress can be worn day or night but pair it with a head chain and statement necklace and you’re bound to stand out in a crowd.

We would have never thought to put an outfit like this together. Thanks to Beyonce, there’s no boundaries when it comes to style. The Rosie Assoulin orange bell sleeve top is matched with a simple pair of camo sweatpants in this chapter.
