Here's everything you need to know about Black Friday 2024, including where to find the best deals this year...

When is Black Friday 2024?

Black Friday traditionally falls on the day after Thanksgiving, the American holiday that is celebrated on the fourth Thursday in November every year.

This year, Black Friday lands on November 29 2024, although most sales start earlier in the month. Some, but not all, will continue through to Cyber Monday on December 2.

What is Black Friday?

Black Friday started out in the US and didn't come to the UK until 2010, despite being a long-standing event across the pond. Since then, it has morphed into one of the biggest shopping events on the calendar for bargain-hunters, alongside Prime Day and the January sales.

Most UK retailers now take part in Black Friday, usually reducing prices on a wide range of products in flash sales that last for anywhere from several weeks to just 24 hours. Deals usually remain live throughout the weekend up 'til Cyber Monday – the day brands traditionally began their online discounts.

Which brands take part in Black Friday?

Now Black Friday is very established, many of our favourite high street brands, as well as some luxury retailers, make the most of the sales period by offering their loyal customers discounts on selected products. Some labels even extend the deals to everything on site, meaning you can grab new-in items for less during the sales period.

Last year, some of our favourite Black Friday discounts included The White Company, Anthropologie, Reiss and Charlotte Tilbury, as well as Neom and Boden. Lots of labels tend to launch sales from the start of November, which is why we’re giving you the heads up now, so you can get prepped before the deals start to flood in.
