Bella Hadid stands up for female photographer in NYFW chaos
The Hadid sisters are known for standing up for themselves. Last year, Gigi Hadid fought back after being manhandled outside a Milan Fashion Week show.
On Wednesday, her younger sister Bella faced a similar scenario when a mass of paparazzi descended on her after the Michael Kors show.
But it wasn’t the photographers that the 20-year-old model lashed out at: it was her own security guard.
When one of her male guards appeared to physically push a female photographer out of the way, Bella leaned over and grabbed him.
Asking the photographer if she was okay, she snapped at the guard, saying: “Hey! Do not touch her.”
The security guard replied saying he didn’t but Bella ignored him, walking on to her waiting car.
Being a model may seem like a dream job but the number of people waiting outside of shows that think these young women are fair game is only growing.
If it’s not paparazzi ready to push their way into a model’s eyeline, it’s ‘pranksters’ like the aforementioned notorious Vitalii Sediuk who believe it’s funny to manhandle famous women on the street.
Bella standing up for another woman is a rare example of feminism surrounding fashion week. An example that should be followed by others.
