BBC's Strictly's Chris McCausland to 'miss out' on Glitterball Trophy as data exposes disadvantage

Strictly Come Dancing star Chris McCausland could miss out on winning the Glitterball Trophy after new data exposed his disadvantage.

The comedian, who is partnered with Dianne Buswell, is one of the bookies' favourites to win the competition after impressing the judges week after week.

However, new data has revealed that Chris will miss out on lifting the Glitterball Trophy to EastEnders star Jamie Borthwick.

The BonusCodeBets.co.uk Supercomputer, which correctly selected 33/1 outsider Hamza Yassin to win in 2022, analysed the characteristics of all previous 21 winners of the show, revealing that the typical ballroom champion is a 31-year-old male actor.

And out of this year's celebrities, East-London-born Jamie almost flawlessly matched a typical winner through his gender, occupation, and age.

When it comes to having a winning profession, actors are the most successful, with seven wins out of 21. Last year’s winner, Ellie Leach, and 2019 victor, Kelvin Fletcher, are amongst some of the actors who have waltzed their way to the prize.

Ex-Love Islander Tasha Ghouri was the bookie's favourite at the beginning of the series but has been waltzed away by Chris McCausland.

The two would bring to fruition a new Strictly record as the first in their professions, with their counterparts not having much luck in the competition over the years.

A spokesperson for BonusCodeBets.co.uk said: “Jamie Borthwick has danced his way back into the spotlight after a show-stopping performance in week five that sent him straight to the top of the leaderboard.

“Our Supercomputer predicted him as the one to watch before the first step was even danced, and now he’s proving to be the real deal. Looks like the only thing more accurate than Jamie’s footwork is our algorithm!”

This weekend, another celebrity will be eliminated from the competition after the dreaded dance-off.

Last Sunday night, Punam Krisnan's time was up after landing in the bottom two against Shayne Ward. After performing their routines again, the judges unanimously voted to keep Shayne in the competition.

But who will be leaving Strictly this weekend?

Strictly Come Dancing returns on Saturday at 6.30pm on BBC One.
