Amy Dowden makes a triumphant return to the show after she had to pull out in the previous series. In 2024, Amy came back to the show after battling with breast cancer. The dancer was paired with JLS' JB Gill, however, she had to pull out due to a foot injury and was replaced by fellow professional dancer Lauren Oakley from the seventh week onwards of the 22nd series.
Since then, Amy has made a recovery and continued to dance in her successful UK dancing tour, Reborn, alongside close friend and fellow professional dancer, Carlos Gu, who is also appearing in this year's upcoming Strictly Come Dancing Series.
Following the end of their dancing tour, Amy said she would be taking a well needed break ahead of a few "busy months" ahead. This week she's been holidaying with Gu while husband, Ben Jones, is at home in the UK. In the caption of the photo, she wrote: "After a FaceTime with my husband who was trying to tell me it's going to rain here the entire time I'm away and how lovely it is back home... this pic for you!
"BTW he was invited but we have a lovely trip planned later this year and there's so much going on with home renovations and studio he opted to stay home and wanted me and my body to have some rest... even messaging me telling me not to step into the gym... I'm a lucky lady!"
It has not yet been confirmed who will be her celebrity partner, as the BBC has confirmed that more details regarding the upcoming series, including the Celebrity contestants taking part, will be announced in due course. With a bikini selfie on her Instagram story shared on Wednesday, April 10, the dancer confirmed her husband had encouraged her to go away for a well needed break.
