The Successions to the Crown Act states that the first six royals in line to the throne must get the Queen’s permission to marry. So if the Queen isn’t a fan of your beloved, tough. There has been a history of the royal family having a problem with divorce. An old law says that senior royals cannot marry someone who is divorced. This could potentially put a stop to Prince Harry’s plans to make it official with Meghan Markle as she has been married before. However, the Queen did allow Prince Charles to marry divorcee Camilla Parker Bowles in 2005.

It looks like Meghan Markle may be about to permanently join the royal family as her relationship with Prince Harry intensifies.

But what does marrying into the most high-profile family in Britain really mean?

For starters, the marriage won’t happen unless the Queen gives her permission. Then there is the getting used to mimicking the Queen at every public occasion and only being known by your royal title.

Oh, and there’s a strange ban on Monopoly.
