Spatterware is, well, everywhere! I’ve been drawn to this imperfect, spotted pattern for quite some time now. These designs, also known as sponge pottery, originated in the 1700s in England and soon spread to the rest of the United Kingdom and the United States.

Over the years, I’ve accumulated a couple of small spatterware pieces I’ve picked up while traveling, but often, these accessories are on the pricier end, even when they aren’t authentic vintage. So when I saw The Home Depot had released a set of gorgeous blue splatterware pieces for an extremely affordable price, I was sold.

During the summer, I purchased this useful and cute 16-piece set when it was priced at $62.16. But now that it’s marked down to just $44.99, it’s a more amazing deal than ever. The set comes with four bowls, four smaller plates, four larger dining plates, and four mugs, making it easy to store everything even in the smallest of cabinets. Given that I live alone in a tiny New York city apartment, I don’t really need more than four of everything, but you could, of course, stock up on a couple of these sets if you entertain larger groups.

I’ve been using all of these pieces quite often since they arrived and am truly so impressed with the quality. They make me excited to plate my food, since the dishes make everything look so beautiful and elevated. The splatterware design is beautiful, and the pieces are super substantial and heavy — no need to worry about them chipping in the sink.

Reviewers also note how eye-catching the blue design is (which is a classic color for authentic spatterware) and love how large the coffee mugs are (something I’ve also noticed when pouring my daily cups of joe!). Buyers also appreciate the even glazed finish — some spatterware pieces have a bit more of a texture to them, but this set has a bit of a more modern bent.

I’m tempted to order another couple of these sets while they’re on sale, just to keep them on hand to use as future housewarming or holiday gifts. The pieces look so much more luxe than the price suggests, and they are an excellent option for everyone, from new college grads to established adults. The splatterware design is timeless and cheerful, no matter your aesthetic!
