Chelsea striker reveals transfer options

14:54 , Marc Mayo

Chelsea striker Armando Broja have claimed that he could sign for teams in three major leagues this summer.

An underwhelming loan spell at Fulham and at Euro 2024 with Albania have harmed the Blues’ chances of bringing in serious cash for Broja.

But he is still likely to leave this summer and told Albania’s RTV Klan what he would say in a hypothetical phone call from AC Milan advisor Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

“I would tell him first of all that I am a big fan of his, I have always liked him as a player,” said Broja.

“Milan are a great club, second only to Real Madrid in history. I would tell him that I have to speak to the agent and the family, then I will tell him know.

“It’s true, I have offers from these three championships (Serie A, Bundesliga, Premier League). Staying at Chelsea is an option, I still have a contract with them that expires in many years.”

Earlier in the window, Roma were linked with veteran defender Mats Hummels but that interest subsided. With Chris Smalling up for sale, they could attempt to bag Varane as his replacement.

Newcastle sale ends Chelsea's Alexander Isak swap hopes

Chelsea and Liverpool will have to look elsewhere after Newcastle agreed to sell Yakubah Minteh to Brighton.

The Guardian say the Blues launched an “opportunistic” deal to sign Alexander Isak as the Toon scrambled to meet PSR targets before this evening’s deadline, which involved cash plus Nicolas Jackson.

Liverpool, meanwhile, held discussions to sign Anthony Gordon.

But the £33m sale of Minteh to Brighton is said to cover Newcastle’s PSR deficit after they agreed to lower their £40m demands for the talented teenage winger.

Arsenal boost as Napoli drop Victor Osimhen price

08:48 , Marc Mayo

Napoli are prepared to lower their demands for Victor Osimhen in a bid to hasten his exit from the club.

Arsenal along with PSG and Manchester United have been strongly linked with the Nigerian striker, who has a £109m release clause in his contract.

But a lack of buyers for Osimhen at that price is leading to Partenopei president Aurelio De Laurentiis considering a new approach, given he wants to cash in on his player and also get his high wages off the books.

Antonio Conte has long expected to have to prepare for the new campaign without Osimhen and his likely presence at the upcoming start of pre-season training is seen as a blow, given they still don’t see him as a likely part of the team for the coming year.

Romelu Lukaku and Artem Dovbyk are Napoli’s ideal replacements but they must sell Osimhen first.

Arsenal set for windfall as Chelsea sell Omari Hutchinson to Ipswich

Saturday 29 June 2024 14:15 , George Flood

Arsenal look set to land a nice little financial windfall as a result of Chelsea’s imminent sale of Omari Hutchinson to Ipswich.

Following a successful loan stint at Portman Road last season in which the Jamaican international winger helped fire Kieran McKenna’s side to a second successive promotion and a first Premier League return since 2002, he is set to return to Suffolk in a club-record deal worth £22.5m.

Arsenal are known to have included a sell-on clause when Chelsea bought Hutchinson back from the Gunners in 2022, with Fabrizio Romano reporting that it is worth between 15-20 per cent.

That should see the Gunners pocket between £3.3m-£4.5m. Not bad!

Romano also says the deal with Ipswich includes a 25 per cent future sell-on clause from Chelsea, with the Blues also retaining the right to match any future bids for his services.

Kellyman said: “It is fantastic to be standing here as a Chelsea player.

Man United line up Matthijs de Ligt as Jarrad Branthwaite alternative

Saturday 29 June 2024 09:54 , George Flood

Manchester United are said to be lining up Matthijs de Ligt as a potential alternative to Jarrad Branthwaite.

The Red Devils have been stuck at an impasse with Everton over England defender Branthwaite, with the two clubs evidently still miles apart in terms of their respective valuations after an opening offer was dismissed out of hand.

That has led them to De Ligt, with David Ornstein of The Athletic reporting that United are seriously now considering a summer move for the Bayern Munich centre-back, who previously worked under Erik ten Hag at Ajax.

The Dutch international is expected to leave Bayern in this transfer window and is apparently seen as a more realistic option over the likes of Branthwaite, Leny Yoro and Jean-Clair Todibo.

Chelsea continue Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall talks after bid rejected

Saturday 29 June 2024 09:36 , George Flood

Chelsea of course are also pushing hard to sign Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.

It had looked like Brighton were set to seal the capture of the midfielder also watched by the likes of Brentford, having apparently agreed a part-exchange deal with Leicester involving Poland international Jakub Moder.

Dewsbury-Hall even reportedly had a medical booked in on the south coast, only for that deal to swiftly collapse at the 11th hour after contact from Chelsea.

Initial talks quickly turned into a formal bid from the Blues as they try to quickly reunite the 25-year-old with former Leicester boss Enzo Maresca.

However, BBC Sport report that opening offer fell short of the Foxes’ £40m valuation of Dewsbury-Hall, with David Datro Fofana, Armando Broja and Cesare Casadei among the players who could now potentially be offered in exchange.

For his part, Dewsbury-Hall is said to be eager to complete a move to Chelsea.

We’ll see how quickly this one progresses over the weekend.

Chelsea step up interest in Alexander Isak deal

Chelsea are said to be stepping up their move for Newcastle striker Alexander Isak.

Reports first emerged last week that the Blues were keen on a deal for the prolific Swedish international and had lodged an initial enquiry, but had been put off by suggestions that their Premier League rivals would demand an enormous fee in excess of £115m.

But Sky Sports claim that Chelsea have now shown further interest in signing Isak as they look to provide new boss Enzo Maresca with a high-profile recruit to significantly bolster his attacking ranks at Stamford Bridge.

More discussions are said to have been held between the clubs on Friday, with Newcastle still not wanting to sell but potentially having to offload one of their key stars soon to ensure they fully comply with the top-flight’s profitability and sustainability rules.

Regardless, the Magpies will still apparently demand over £100m for Isak.

Staying with Arsenal for a moment, the Gunners are also rumoured to have made a shock move for Jules Kounde.

The French defender’s versatility could be a very valuable asset indeed under Mikel Arteta and it would also be an annoyance to London rivals Chelsea, who pursued his signature relentlessly before he eventually moved to the Camp Nou from LaLiga rivals Sevilla two summers ago.

Arsenal are now believed to have made a surprise approach over Kounde, though journalist Gerard Romero reports that they have been told by Barcelona that he is not for sale as things stand.

It would apparently take a “high offer” for any deal to even be considered, with Barca waiting on the future of fellow defender Ronald Araujo - a player strongly linked with Manchester United.
