West Ham face Leicester this Friday with David Moyes looking for his first win after the defeat to Watford. The Foxes were beaten by Manchester City last weekend and currently sit in 12th place.

Here are three things to look out for…

Andy Carroll has to be dropped

There has been a lot of controversy surrounding Andy Carroll’s style of play in recent weeks. For the wrong reasons, he was a talking point after only 6 seconds against Watford. Whether he should have been sent off for his elbow is debatable, but that is not the reason why I believe that Carroll should be dropped.

He has not been playing well for a while now and his impact in our games has been insignificant. We do not have the players that can help Carroll play to his strengths and at his best. Our attack needs new ideas and Carroll has not scored for West Ham this season. We all know that Carroll is very hard to play against on his day, but that day does not look like appearing anytime soon.

Moyes has to take risks

Injuries to key attacking players meant that Moyes was inevitably going to struggle against Watford, but he has to take risks this Friday. Although we did create some good chances last weekend, this was not enough and our overall attacking performance was poor. We cannot play with three defensively-minded midfielders again.

Michail Antonio and Andre Ayew are both expected to return this Friday and they have to go straight into the team. Slaven Bilic toyed with the idea of playing Manuel Lanzini as a CM and given our lack of creativity in midfield, Moyes may be forced to play Lanzini there. It’s no surprise that we have only scored 4 goals in the Premier League since the start of October. Can Moyes fix this?

Is Joe Hart still a top-class goalkeeper?

Since Pep Guardiola became manager of Manchester City, there is no doubt that Hart has struggled. He has not been helped at West Ham by our poor defensive organisation and he often has a lot of work to do in games. But there have been many instances where the opposition have scored and we have questioned whether Hart should have done better. He has made some fantastic saves but he is still a top-class goalkeeper?
