West Ham Fan View: Three things ahead of Chelsea clash
West Ham face Chelsea this Saturday and we need to replicate the fight and desire that we showed against Manchester City.
The Blues beat Newcastle with ease last weekend and Eden Hazard is starting to show his best form.
Here are three things to look out for…

Adrian and Diafra Sakho deserve to start
David Moyes had no choice but to start Adrian against Manchester City and it’s fair to say that Adrian impressed. He looked confident in goal and pulled off amazing saves which led to Manchester City only scoring two goals. Should Adrian start against Chelsea in place of Joe Hart, not many West Ham fans can complain.

Diafra Sakho is another player that has provided Moyes with a selection dilemma ahead of this weekend’s game. Despite not starting against City, he performed well given the circumstances of the game. He has not started a single Premier League game this season and in these big games, we need a counter-attacking option and Sakho provides this.
Will Moyes adopt a similar game plan as last weekend?
It was not pretty football but it very nearly worked. Against Manchester City we saw West Ham sit very deep and take little risks when it came to attacking. This came as no surprise given Manchester City’s attacking prowess but will we see Moyes adopt a similar strategy this Saturday?

We are likely to have more space against Chelsea and we are at home but Moyes should play the same formation with the same backline. We put in one of our best defensive performances of the season against one of the best attacking teams in the world and there is no reason to change.
It will get worse before it gets better
We currently sit 19th in the table with 10 points from 15 games and there is no doubt that we are seeing an improved West Ham under Moyes. But it will be no surprise if we gain 0 points from our next 2 games given that we face both Chelsea and Arsenal. In terms of results, it is likely to get worse but should we keep improving our performances, we may see us pick up wins once we face the ‘smaller sides’.
