West Ham Fan View: 3 things to look out for against Arsenal

Joe Hart will look to cement his place back in the West Ham
Joe Hart will look to cement his place back in the West Ham

West Ham face Arsenal on Tuesday night in the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup. This is our second meeting in two weeks following the draw at home last Wednesday. Here are three things to look out for…

Will Joe Hart put pressure on Adrian?

Since coming in for the unavailable Joe Hart against Manchester City, Adrian has impressed and become our first choice goalkeeper. Hart is likely to come in for the cup competitions and he now has the chance to show why he should be our number one.

We all expected Hart to perform significantly better than he has and it’s fair to say that the decision to drop him wasn’t unfair. Yes, he did make some great saves but he also made far too many mistakes which cost us in games where our defence was already struggling. Will Hart show his quality tomorrow night?

Will David Moyes rotate?

We have had very tough games over the past couple of weeks and the players are starting to look tired. This is no surprise given that we have not dominated in these games but the hard work has certainly paid off. Fans have called for Toni Martinez to get first-team action for a while now and he was included in the squad against Manchester City.

Our players have to be fully fit for the busy period ahead and the Premier League has to be our priority right now. The games against Newcastle and Bournemouth are perfect for us to gain two wins and start to go on a winning run. Moyes should rotate tomorrow night.

Will we see a better attacking performance?

Although a point was a good result against Arsenal last week, we did struggle to create when attacking with only six shots and none on target. Javier Hernandez did hit the bar near the end of the game but it’s hard to recall any other ‘good’ chances. Arsenal are likely to play a weakened side and Moyes should be braver in his approach tomorrow night.

My prediction? 2-1.
