Jürgen Klopp names Liverpool ace he will 'definitely' watch progress amid 'outstanding' claim
Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp was delighted with his side's victory over Spurs. Goals from Mohamed Salah, Andy Robertson, Cody Gakpo and Harvey Elliott sent the Reds toward a 4-2 win in the German's penultimate game in charge.
"We are outstanding until we are not," Klopp said, live on Sky Sports, at the final whistle. "It was a really good game. Tottenham can put pressure on Aston Villa again for the Champions League. In high-performance things, you need a spark. I would say three points is enough and the boys thought that."
With the pressure off in the Premier League title race, Liverpool was able to move considerably more freely in attack that it has for some time. The eight days between matches — a rare luxury for the Reds to be afforded — must also have played a big part.

"Anfield was a special place today," Klopp added. "We were 4-0 up, I made the changes and we lost organization. Tottenham showed how good they could be. I was happy with the performance.
"We were good in pretty much all areas offensively. The passes were good. So many things were good. We stayed calm. As long as they don't break the lines then it's fine, let them pass. I liked our game a lot. The goals were outstanding.
"Mo [Salah] was outstanding, he played a really good game. His side with Harvey [Elliott] was good. I was pleased for him. None of the boys want to play not great, why would they? Mo showed what he is capable of."
Elliott, Salah and Gakpo were among those who impressed, in particular, against Spurs. Elliott scored a screamer and that capped an exceptional performance where he barely put a foot wrong in and out of possession.
"Did Harvey Elliott play enough this season? I'm not sure," Klopp admitted to Match of the Day. "That's up to me. It's a little bit of moments like this and he was outstanding — outstanding — and he has to be as dominant as he was today.
"Fantastic player; what a goal. I love it. All good. I will watch [his development from afar when I've left] definitely, and enjoy it."
Liverpool.com says: Elliott was magnificent and he wasn't the only one. it was great to see Salah looking much more like his usual self and there were plenty of positives. It's just a shame that it comes when the Premier League title has already gone.
