Fan arrested at Brentford after Derby player alleges racist abuse
Police have arrested a football fan after allegations of racist abuse in Derby’s 3-3 draw at Brentford.
Derby County manager Frank Lampard told Sky Sports after the match his player, Duane Holmes, reported he was abused by a fan during the match.
The incident comes after a string of racist incidents across football in the last two weeks, including England’s match in Montenegro.

And the Met Police’s Twitter account for Brentford FC games posted after the match that a fan had been arrested.
The account, @MPSBrentfordFC, tweeted: “In response to rumour tweets, one male was arrested in the home end today for a racially aggravated offence against a Derby player.
“The male is currently in custody and an investigation is ongoing.”
Lampard said after the match that the incident was reported to officials.

The former Chelsea player said: “Duane Holmes complained that he was racially abused. I didn’t see it, I was facing play.
“A fan came out to him at the dugout, at the side, and abused him. It was reported.
“Apparently the police have someone, that’s all the detail I know. Because it’s such an important issue, I don’t want to go beyond what I know.
“It wasn’t me, but it was very clearly reported by the players and the people around.”
