Alisson Becker transfer interest emerges as Arne Slot 'complications' delay Liverpool announcement

Just one game remains of the German's tenure with the Reds already guaranteed to finish third in the Premier League no matter what happens against Wolves next Sunday.

Before that, though, there could be an announcement involving Arne Slot taking over from Klopp and there is supposedly transfer interest in Alisson Becker. Here's your round-up of the latest Liverpool news as the end of the season — and a summer of change — ticks ever closer.

Alisson Becker 'draws Saudi Arabia transfer interest'

It was only a matter of time before another Liverpool player was linked with a transfer move to Saudi Arabia and Alisson Becker is the latest star on the radar of the Middle East. That is according to The Telegraph, which reports that Manchester City's Ederson and Manchester United duo Casemiro and Bruno Fernandes are also players that the division would like to recruit.

The Saudi Pro League is targeting another raft of expensive incomings but it remains to be seen whether or not the landscape has changed since last summer. Mohamed Salah is another player who would be a dream addition for the well-backed and ambitious plans in the region but there have to be questions about whether stars will now think twice about going there.

Jordan Henderson lasted only a few months while the standard is clearly nowhere near the elite level of the game in the Premier League and the Champions League. Alisson (and Salah for that matter) are still in their prime, so leaving the top level now would seem premature when the money is still going to be there in a few years.

Arne Slot 'complications' emerge

Liverpool has not yet completed a deal to bring Arne Slot to Anfield because of some complications, according to the Daily Mirror. That report claims that while a deal worth $14m (£11m/€13m) has been agreed to bring in the new head coach, Feyenoord wants an additional $2.5m (£2.0m/€2.3m) for the coaching staff who are expected to join Slot on Merseyside.

Another complication is that Sipke Hulshoff is currently on the coaching team of the Netherlands and is therefore expected to take part in the summer's European Championship as part of Ronald Koeman's team. However, that would not be the ideal preparation for moving to Liverpool as it would delay the assistant's arrival. "There are a combination of factors why there is no announcement yet," Slot said in the last few days. "But don't worry. It will happen."
