There have been plenty of opinions about Robert Pattinson being case as Batman but at least Zack Snyder has given his seal of approval.

The Batman Vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice director responded to a casting story on the subject, on the social media platform Vero, by liking it.

His ‘like’ was captured by @SamParkerMetal who posted it to Twitter which caused quite the frenzy among DC fans.

Some hardcore Snyder fans have been critical of Warner Bros’ plan to make The Batman with Matt Reeves as they say it’s a move away from the plan the BvS director had put in place.

This ‘like’ might not be much but it could influence these fans into given Pattinson and this new Batman movie a chance.

Deadline claims The Batman will “in no way carry on the work that Ben Affleck did as the older Batman in Batman Vs. Superman and Justice League.”

All we really know at this point is that the story will revolve around a younger Bruce Wayne and that Reeves has taken cues from Frank Miller’s Year One comic, which recounts his first year as a crime-fighter.

Other characters that appear in this story are Jim Gordon, having just transferred to Gotham from Chicago, Selina Kyle and Harvey Dent.

Pattinson has made a name for himself in the indie movie scene with critically-acclaimed performances in High Life, Good Time and Cosmopolis.

He’s no stranger to franchise films though having kicked off his career as Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire as well as playing Edward Cullen in The Twilight Saga.

Reeves is known for directing War for the Planet of the Apes, 10 Cloverfirled Lane and Let Me In.

The Batman is scheduled for release in 2021.
