Wolverine would have been the only 'X-Men' to survive the snap, insists ‘Avengers: Endgame’ director
Disney’s decision to buy 20th Century Fox finally means that the Marvel Cinematic Universe has its hands on the X-Men characters that are so beloved by comic-book fans.
But while we wait to see what Kevin Feige and his creative team do with the likes of Wolverine, Professor X, Magneto, Storm and Cyclops, it is hard not to imagine how the X-Men would have fit into past entries into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

It turns out that the directors behind Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame are just as curious. In fact, directors Joe and Anthony Russo recently opened up about how the mutants would have been incorporated into Infinity War and Endgame, admitting that only Wolverine would have survived the snap.
“I’d love to see a fiercely motivated Wolverine going up against Thanos,” declared Joe, after IGN asked which of Gambit, Jean Grey, Storm, Wolverine, Cyclops and Rogue would have been used in Endgame.
When it was pointed out to Joe that eliminating so many of the X-Men would have been devastating for fans to see, he rightfully explained, “It’s not our job to give the people what they want, it’s to give them what they need.”
Sadly, it sounds as if we won’t actually get to see X-Men involved in the MCU for quite a few years yet, because when Kevin Feige recently revealed the plans for Phase 4 he didn’t mention the mutants at all.

However, he did conclude his presentation by teasing, “So this is Phase 4, thank you. Now there's a lot of other stuff we didn't get to talk about today. We didn't even mention that we're making Black Panther 2.”
“We didn't mention the fact that Guardians of the Galaxy 3 is coming. We didn't have time to talk about Captain Marvel 2, by the way. I didn't even have time to talk about the Fantastic Four. And there's no time left to talk about mutants.”
Which heavily suggests that they’ll finally pop up in Phase 5.
