Will Smith is working on a 'Fresh Prince of Bel-Air' spin off series

Looks like we might be heading home, to Bel-Air.

According to an extensive profile on the financial wheelings and dealings of Will Smith in The Hollywood Reporter, it’s emerged that he's working on a spin-off series to The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.

The show will come from his newly minted digital content studio Westbrook Media, a branch of his Overbrook Entertainment company, run with wife Jada Pinkett-Smith.

Details of what it could involve - Carlton launching his own dance school, perhaps? - remain illusive, however.

The original series launched Smith's acting career, first airing in 1990 and exective produced by music mogul Quincy Jones (who also penned the theme tune).

It found Will's character sent from a rough neighbourhood in West Philadelphia to live with his aunt and uncle, and cousins Carlton, Hilary and Ashley in upscale Bel-Air in Los Angeles.

The show was syndicated around the world, airing on BBC2 in the UK, and running over six series and 148 episodes.

It also boasted a hot of celebrity guests, including the likes of Oprah Winfrey, Chris Rock, Evander Holyfield, Don Cheadle (as Ice Tray, Will's best friend from Philly), Isaac Hayes and, on one occasion, Donald Trump.

Smith has never shied away from the show that gave him his break in TV, recently launching Bel-Air Athletics, a fashion brand which even features a reverse-able tracksuit top harking back to the one he wore on the series.

Most recently, Smith has starred in Ang Lee's Gemini Man, out worldwide today, though it's been the subject of pretty mixed reviews.
