The ending of Avengers: Endgame was an emotional rollercoaster for fans.
Not only did we see the death of Iron Man, but after being tasked with returning all of the Infinity Stones and Mjolnir to their original timelines Steve Rogers decided to remain in the past and live a long life with Peggy Carter. Right at the end of the film, an elderly Rogers then passed Captain America’s shield onto Sam Wilson.

But ever since the release of Endgame fans have wondered what did Captain America actually do in the past? It turns out, so has Chris Evans, so the actor decided to ask directors Joe and Anthony Russo that very question at Comic-Con on Friday.
Via video, Evans quizzed, “After Steve finally got rid of all of the Infinity Stones and finally got his dance with Peggy what do you think was the next thing he made sure to do?”
This provoked Anthony to predict, “Perhaps he and Peggy tried to make a baby,” before Joe then joked, according to Digital Spy, “I think he went to the bathroom because it took him a long time to return all the Stones, so he was holding it for a while."

Anthony also had another go at answering the question, suggesting, “I know there's many different theories about how it stacks up. Depending on where you go, Steve could do a lot of things.”
“He could go rescue Bucky from HYDRA, he could rout HYDRA out of SHIELD, he could go find himself in the ice and figure out a rotation where the two Steves can take turns and he can spend more time at home with Peggy."
