Vince Vaughn Goes Bald For Next Role, Is Almost Unrecognisable
Vince Vaughn has adopted a very different new look for his next film.
The 46-year old American actor, for years best known for broadly comedic work in the likes of ‘Wedding Crashers’ and ‘Dodgeball,’ has been pursuing a somewhat more serious path of late with roles in TV’s ‘True Detective’ and Mel Gibson’s war film ‘Hacksaw Ridge.’
Now, Vaughn is set to follow this with the lead role in ‘Brawl in Cell Block 99,’ which promises to be a hard-edged prison thriller.
For this movie, Vaughn has gone completely bald; Entertainment Tonight shared a photo taken of the actor on the streets of New York, where the film is set to be shot.
‘Brawl in Cell Block 99’ casts Vaughn as “a former boxer-turned-drug runner” who “lands in a prison battleground after a deal gets deadly.”
It will be the second film from writer-director S. Craig Zahler, who made his debut with 2015’s western horror ‘Bone Tomahawk’ starring Kurt Russell, Matthew Fox and Patrick Wilson.
The shocking brutality of ‘Bone Tomahawk’ would certainly suggest we can anticipate something similarly full-on from ‘Cell Block 99’ – but is it fair to say that, based on this photo, Vaughn’s new look is more than a little reminiscent of Harry Hill…?
No release dates have been set for ‘Brawl in Cell Block 99,’ nor does Vaughn’s next film ‘Hacksaw Ridge’ have UK distribution in place yet.
