Tom Holland unveils first look at his Nathan Drake in long-awaited 'Uncharted' movie
Tom Holland has released the first image of his take on treasure hunter Nathan Drake in video game adaptation Uncharted.
The Spider-Man actor stars as the adventurer in the long-gestating film, which was struck by yet more delays in March because of the coronavirus pandemic.

In the first look photo, the 24-year-old star is seen on the deck of what appears to be a wooden ship, although the vessel has been badly damaged in an attack.
Holland posted the picture on Instagram with the caption: “It’s nice to meet you, I’m Nate.”

The film is an adaptation of the PlayStation video game but, rather than following Drake in his 30s, it will be an origin story, with Mark Wahlberg starring as mentor figure Sully.
It is directed by Venom’s Ruben Fleischer with a script by Iron Man writers Art Marcum and Matt Holloway.

Fleischer has taken up the director’s chair after a who’s-who of Hollywood names have been connected to it over the years, including David O. Russell, Neil Burger, Shawn Levy, Dan Trachtenberg and Travis Knight.
In July, Holland confirmed the adaptation had finally started production after it was forced to shut down almost immediately in March.
Nolan North, who provided the voice performance for Drake in the games, visited the set and said Holland is “smashing it” in the role.
Like looking into a mirror! Proud to have @TomHolland1996 continuing the Drake legacy! Absolutely smashing it!

Principal photography on Uncharted was completed this week, with Holland likely to start work on his third Spider-Man movie in the very near future.
That movie is shaping up to be something very intriguing indeed, with possible cameos from previous Peter Parker performers Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield, as well as Jamie Foxx returning as villain Electro from the Garfield-era films.

Benedict Cumberbatch is also set to pop up as Doctor Strange, implying that multiverse action is going to be a key part of the movie.
Uncharted is currently due to be released in July 2021.
