Tina Fey and Amy Poehler to take over from Ricky Gervais at the 2021 Golden Globes
Tina Fey and Amy Poehler will take over from Ricky Gervais as hosts at the 2021 Golden Globe Awards.
The announcement comes just under a week after Gervais’ acerbic style had Hollywood’s finest wincing in their tuxedos and ball gowns.
It won’t be new ground for the pair, who hosted the ceremony in between 2013 and 2015, although they stated previously they would not do it again.

Poehler announced they would be returning while onstage at the Television Critics Association press tour on Saturday.
The news comes after it was confirmed the 2020 Oscars would go host-less for a second year running next month.
Paul Telegdy, chairman of NBC Entertainment, said: “NBC has long been the home to two of the funniest people on the planet - Tina Fey and Amy Poehler - and we didn’t want to wait any longer to share the great news that they’ll be hosting the Globes once again.”
The duo have been friends and collaborators since starring on Saturday Night Live together, and have appeared in numerous films including Baby Mama, Mean Girls and Sisters.
Lorenzo Soria, president of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, said: “There’s no denying that Tina and Amy’s comedic chemistry is infectious.
“We can’t wait to see the dynamic duo return to the Golden Globes stage.”

Gervais, who has now hosted the ceremony on five occasions, has also claimed he will not return as host, something many actors might be quite relieved about.
Some 18.3 million viewers aged between 18-49 watched the 2020 Golden Globe Awards, according to Nielsen Media Research.
The date for the 2021 Golden Globe Awards will be announced later in the year.
