Dwayne Johnson celebrates wrapping tough 'Red Notice' shoot: 'None will ever compare'
Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson has confirmed that production on his upcoming heist thriller Red Notice – co-starring Ryan Reynolds and Gal Gadot – has now officially wrapped.
The wrestler-turned-actor celebrated the news with a series of behind-the-scenes photos and videos from the COVID-secure shoot, which he says is one of his proudest achievements.
“I have wrapped many of big productions in my career, but none will ever compare to wrapping RED NOTICE and what this represents,” The Rock wrote on Instagram.
He also paid tribute to the 800 cast and crew members who underwent 2000 Covid tests per week while being quarantined and sequestered in a production bubble ‘for months’.

He celebrated no outbreaks on the shoot, which was put on hiatus in March due to the pandemic, saying “Having my entire family and myself experienced COVID, I know first hand the transmissible strength of this insidious virus, so I pushed hard to implement these very aggressive measures.”
In another photo shared online, The Rock gave a taste of the film’s plot which revolves around the theft of priceless artworks.
“I give you one of the rare and true priceless artifacts to ever exist - Cleopatra’s Egg. Are you sure you want to steal it on my watch? The FBI Profiler. The World’s Most Wanted Art Thief. And the greatest conman the world has never seen. Excited for you to see this movie in 2021 — only on @netflix.”
Earlier in November, Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds also paid tribute to the crew of his new action film Red Notice, praising the ‘grit’ and ‘sacrifice’ of the 300-strong team who completed the Netflix film amid the global pandemic.
Announcing his wrapping on the film on Instagram the 44-year-old Canadian said: “My hat is OFF to this crew. I can’t emphasize their grit enough.
“Over 300 souls living in a sequestered bubble to make this a reality. They went to work under the most intense circumstances every day. That sacrifice is not only theirs, but it also belongs to their family, friends and loved ones who haven’t seen them in months.

The new film, written and directed by Skyscraper and Central Intelligence’s Rawson Marshall Thurber, began production earlier this year but was shut down in March by the coronavirus pandemic. Described as an art heist thriller, the film is Dwayne Johnson and Gal Gadot’s first Netflix Original film, and is reported to have a huge $130m budget.
Former wrestling star Johnson is said to be playing a law enforcement officer who is on the tail of a conman (Reynolds) and a renowned cat burglar (Gadot).
On her Instagram page, the Wonder Woman star said she couldn’t wait for her fans to see the film, and she also took time to recognise the commitment of the film’s crew.

“We had to be sequestered 24/7 and only go to and from set,” she wrote. “The crew had to be away from their families for several months and they worked their butts off so we can all deliver the best movie possible while keeping everyone safe.”
Red Notice will be released exclusively on Netflix in 2021.
