The new plans for Superman will be overseen by JJ Abrams' Bad Robot production company, with author Ta-Nehisi Coates behind the script, and Hannah Minghella also producing.
Deadline reported that there is no word yet on a plot for the new movie, nor whether we could see the introduction of a new Superman.

However, Henry Cavill – the current Kal-El – is said to be keen to return to the character, following his stints in Man of Steel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and Justice League (not to mention Zack Snyder's upcoming recut of the latter).
The movie's writer Coates is a widely celebrated journalist and novelist, a former national correspondent at The Atlantic, and writer for the likes of The Washington Post and Time.
He's also penned the non-fiction books The Beautiful Struggle and Between The World and Me, as well as the novel The Water Dancer in 2019.

However, comic book fans may also know him from his work on issues of Black Panther for Marvel in 2016 and Captain America in 2018.
He also received a 'special thanks' in the credits of Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame and Black Panther.
He's also attached to Black Panther director Ryan Coogler's forthcoming movie project Wrong Answer, currently in production and set to star Michael B. Jordan.
It comes following news that Warner Bros is also working with Abrams' Bad Robot company on a Justice League Dark project, a new cinematic 'universe' which is set to traverse both TV and the big screen.
