'Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker' script made Keri Russell cry
Keri Russell has opened up about joining Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker, admitting that she was reduced to tears by J.J. Abrams and Chris Terrio’s script for the blockbuster.
“When I read his script that he wrote I cried. I mean who knows what it will turn out to be and I hope it remains true to what he originally wanted,” she told the Associated Press.

However, while Russell is remaining rather cagey about how The Rise Of Skywalker will turn out, she was quick to insist that Abrams is clearly the right person to bring the Star Wars saga to an end.
“He’s not trying to change it to be something else,” she explained. “He really respects what it is.”
As you’d expect, Russell wasn’t able to go into too much detail about Zorri Bliss, her character in The Rise of Skywalker. But she did take the opportunity to describe her look in the film as “bad ass,” before then admitting she was particularly excited to wear a helmet.
“I was like, ‘That is my dream job. I can see everyone. No one can see me. Hello. Amazing!’”

Russell, who previously worked with Abrams on Mission: Impossible III and Felicity, which he co-created and she won a Golden Globe for, also made sure to note just how important the Star Wars franchise has been to her.
“I have such memories of Princess Leia and Chewbacca and Han Solo, I have such memories of them— like everyone does. So, yes, it’s incredible to get to be whatever part I am.”
We’ll see what she can bring to the series when Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker is released on December 20.
