‘Star Wars’ is Kevin Feige’s 'true love,' insists Joe Russo
Kevin Feige’s “first and true love” is the Star Wars franchise, according to Marvel director Joe Russo.
The filmmaker, who has worked extensively with Feige over the last decade as he has grown the Marvel Cinematic Universe into the most dominant movie series in Hollywood, was recently asked by The Hollywood Reporter about the producer’s work developing a Star Wars movie. Specifically, what excites him most about Feige joining the galaxy far, far away.

This provoked Russo to declare, “Star Wars is Kevin's first and true love,” before then revealing that the 46-year-old has a mammoth collection of Star Wars goodies that he could turn into a museum if he wanted.
“He's a man who has a very, very large basement filled with enough Star Wars paraphernalia to fill a museum.”
Russo believes that this makes Feige the perfect man to take the Star Wars franchise forward, as he added, “Whatever he does with it is going to be passionate, emotional and unique.”
That’s exactly what the Star Wars franchise needs. While The Force Awakens was an unmitigated triumph when it was released back in 2015, as it is still the highest grossing film in US box office history, the follow-up films have failed to match this success.

In fact, the latest entry to the series, Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker looks set to gross around a $1 billion less than The Force Awakens, while the final installment to the Skywalker saga was met with distinctly average reviews, too.
We’re probably gonna have to wait a while for an update on Feige’s Star Wars plans, though, as Disney have already confirmed they plan to give the franchise a break, while Feige is a little busy with the MCU, too.
