Spock says new Star Trek may shoot next year

Zachary Quinto thinks he knows the schedule for the new movie.

'Star Trek' man Zachary Quinto, who plays Spock in JJ Abrams' rebooted movies, reckons he knows when the next instalment is set to start filming.

Speaking to Buzzhub, while at the Galway Film Fleadh, he thinks that the third film will be coming around much quicker than it took the second one to arrive.

“'Star Trek 3' should be filming, I suppose, next year,” he said.

“It's going to be made a lot quicker than the last one. That's the plan, although nothing is confirmed yet.”

Thought he mentions it's all unconfirmed, how this would fit in with Abrams' new commitment to the forthcoming 'Star Wars' films is not yet known.

It's thought that production for the first new 'Star Wars' film will start in early 2014, with a release scheduled for the middle of 2015.

So far no cast have been announced for the film, though there are thought to be roles in place for original stars Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill and Harrison Ford.
