Gwyneth Paltrow, Ed Sheeran and Billie Eilish sent up in new 'Spitting Image' trailer
Spitting Image has released the first official trailer for the rebooted series – featuring the likes of Kim Kardashian, Ed Sheeran, Billie Eilish and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson taking bribes to promote the show.
The spoof comedy show, an award-winning hit in the 1980s, is returning on streaming service BritBox later this year, and it appears any famous figure is at risk of being sent up.
Describing itself as “a show that makes fun of celebrities but is also endorsed by celebrities”, it features puppets of The Rock, Kardashian, Sheeran (with a head like a turnip), Eilish and The Pope accepting wads of cash to say how much they love it.

Proudly announcing it as “a show that dares to take cheap shots”, it features Gwyneth Paltrow declaring: “If you liked my vagina candle, you’ll love my anus oil.”
And a United Nations summit shows Kanye West declaring himself “Ruler of Earth” before throwing sneakers at the heads of world leaders.
But as well as taking swipes at A-List stars, the show has not lost its political angle.

In reference to the coronavirus pandemic, the trailer opens with a movie trailer style voice over announcing: “In a time of terror, when creatures of night command vast riotous armies, a hero rises from slumber to once again do battle.”
