Directors Bob Perischetti, Peter Ramsey and Rodney Rothman weren’t shy about their future plans for the Spider-Verse when the original film was released.
A few weeks ahead of Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse hitting cinemas, Sony admitted that a follow-up and several spin-offs were in various stages of development because of the buzz surrounding the film.
This included a Spider-Woman story, which would focus on Gwen Stacey, while John Mulaney also registered his interest in a Spider-Ham film, and there was even some chatter about a Spider-Verse television series, too. That actually seems a little more likely after Spider-Verse’s Phil Lord and his writing partner Chris Miller signed a five-year deal with Sony Pictures TV.
