'Spider-Man: Far From Home' post-credit scenes explained
Warning: Your spoiler senses should be tingling
After the climactic end to the Infinity Saga, there was a lot of pressure on Spider-Man: Far From Home to deliver an exciting follow-up.
Thankfully, director Jon Watt and co-writers Erik Sommers and Chris McKenna managed to not only present an exciting sequel to Spider-Man: Homecoming but also a couple of end credit scenes that were definitely worth the wait.
If you have yet to see Spider-Man: Far From Home, or Avengers: Endgame for that matter, look away as there are some SPIDEY SPOILERS coming...
Mid-Credit Scene
Now that MJ (Zendaya) is aware her new beau Peter Parker (Tom Holland) is Spider-Man, she gets him to take her for a swing around New York’s skyscrapers.
However, as he drops her off a breaking news banner informs them that the defeated Quentin Beck/Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal) had delivered a fake video, which incriminates Spider-Man in the Elemental “attacks,” to none other than than J. Jonah Jameson, played by original actor J.K. Simmons.

Unsurprisingly, the Daily Bugle editor is now running an InfoWars-style, far-right website and dishing out conspiracy theories with the same energy as Alex Jones.
The doctored video not only paints Spidey as Enemy No. 1 but also reveals his civilian identity so now everyone knows Peter Parker is the webslinger.
Looks like Spider-Man’s next outing will be dealing with the fallout of Mysterio’s fake video but also this scene could mean Simmons is going to be playing a bigger part in this franchise having previously appeared in Sam Raimi’s original trilogy.
End-Credit Scene
Now if you thought the mid-credit scene was wild, it isn’t anything on the end credits featuring Maria Hill (Colbie Smulders) and Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson), or should I say Talos (Ben Mendelssohn) and Soren (Sharon Blynn), the Skrulls from Captain Marvel.
Turns out, the Skrull couple were pretending to be the former S.H.I.E.L.D. directors for the entire movie and the scene shows them trying to deliver a report back to the real Nick Fury of their time on earth.

Apparently, they were only tasked with delivering to Peter the super sunglasses E.D.I.T.H. Tony Stark used to wear as he had of course bequeathed them to his surrogate son but got caught up in all the drama when Beck faked the whole Elemental attack.
It answers the question as to how Beck and his team of ex-Stark scientists managed to pull the wool over Fury and Hill as the real ones are too paranoid to be tricked, especially by people they’ve probably already had dealings with, but of course, the Skrulls hadn’t. It also explains why they reached out to Spider-Man rather than any of the other surviving Avengers and superheroes like Doctor Strange or Black Panther.
The film does hint that Hill and Fury aren’t who they seem early on when they make a very brief mention of Kree sleeper cells. At the time it seemed pretty random but in hindsight makes sense as the Kree have been trying to wipe out Skrulls since forever and it was the whole plot of Captain Marvel, so of course these two would be worried.
Talos relays the report to the real Fury who seems to be on vacation, albeit a simulated one on a Skrull spaceship. He turns off the holographic projection of a beach and heads towards the main deck of the ship, declaring it is time to get back to work, though where in the galaxy he is is anyone’s guess.
One thing is for sure, Samuel L. Jackson is not hanging up his eye-patch anytime soon.
