Spider-Man confirmed for Avengers: Infinity War

Tom Holland has confirmed he will appear as Spider-Man in ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ next year. It will be his third appearance as the character in as many years.

Marvel Studios has yet to officially confirm a cast list for the titanic superhero crossover, but is expected to ahead of the start of full production later this year.

Holland confirmed Spider-Man would appear in an interview with Vogue. An Italian Tom Holland fan account on Twitter spotted and translated the interview from an Italian edition of the magazine. In the translated excerpt, Holland says: “The producers wanted to be sure that I was the right person before you entrust three films over the next four years, including ‘Avengers: Infinity War’.”

Holland debuted as the iconic web-slinger in last year’s ‘Captain America: Civil War’ and will star in his first solo movie – ‘Spider-Man: Civil War’ later this year.

Plenty of other Marvel stars have confirmed their participation in the superhero epic. Vin Diesel confirmed that the Guardians of the Galaxy will be involved, directors Joe and Anthony Russo confirmed Chris Hemsworth’s Thor and Jeremy Renner confirmed he’ll be back as Hawkeye.

Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr are likely to take part as Captain America and Iron Man, and Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow may well appear as well. Other heroes that could appear include Chadwick Boseman’s Black Panther, Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange, Paul Rudd’s Ant-Man and Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel – in what would be her debut as the character.

‘Infinity War’ is the culmination of the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe story to date, and will see Josh Brolin’s mad Titan Thanos gathering the Infinity Stones to seize control of and power over the entire galaxy.
