Sebastian Stan called the 'CEO of staying safe' for extreme coronavirus precaution on flight
Sebastian Stan is not playing when it comes to protecting himself from the coronavirus.
The Marvel actor, who plays Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier, shared a photo of his extreme precaution on a flight to Europe. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier star, 37, had a mask on his face as well as black gloves, but also a hat, a sleep mask, a hoodie and a blanket.
We have no idea if it’s him under there because he’s so covered up, but we’ll take him at his word.
Stan thanked Delta “for getting me to Europe safely,” adding the hashtag, “#BuckytakesEurope,” referring to the character he plays not just in the upcoming Disney+ project but the Avengers and Captain America movies as well as Black Panther. There were a lot of comments, leading with one from his The Martian and 355 co-star Jessica Chastain, who wrote, “Haha OMG.”

While some commenters called it “dramatic,” others applauded his precaution — whether or not he played it up for the photo op. “Coronavirus ain’t got nothin on u,” wrote one person. Another called him the “CEO of staying safe.” And more than one asked about the beverage in his hand, including, “How are you gonna drink that?” with a mask on.
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, the first original series set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe which also stars Anthony Mackie, recently wrapped production in Atlanta, which had been its home base since October. There were plans to then shoot for two weeks in Puerto Rico, but they were canceled following the recent earthquakes. So it could be that production, for Stan anyway, will now continue abroad in Europe.
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier — which sees Stan and Mackie’s characters teaming up “in a global adventure” — is expected to premiere on Disney+ this autumn.
Whether or not Stan’s precautionary get up is a joke or not, celebrities are taking precaution on planes as the virus spreads. Gwyneth Paltrow and Kate Hudson also posted photos of themselves donning masks for flights, despite experts saying those types won’t protect from the virus.
